PUR-temadag sætter fokus på Polyurethan og bæredygtighed

Den 21. maj afholder PUR-sektionen et arrangement på Sinatur Hotel Storebælt, der både inkluderer en temadag om 'Polyurethan og bæredygtighed' og sektionens årsmøde. 

Derudover er der traditionen tro også en indlagt en god festmiddag, og som noget helt nyt vil der i år blive uddelt en PUR-pris.

Der er lagt op til en rigtig spændende dag med mange spændende foredrag på temadagen, og rammerne på Signatur Hotel Storebælt indbyder til godt fagligt og kollegialt samvær. 

Arrangementet indledes med temadagen – med registrering fra kl. 9.00 – og kl. 17.15 finder sektionens årsmøde sted – dagsorden kan downloades via dette link.

Nowadays everybody are talking about sustainability, and still there are no fixed definition of the term. Companies develop their own definition and content. In this presentation, Linda will initiate the presentation by presenting selected ways to define sustainability.

10:50 – EHS legislation in EU impacting Isocyanates

A REACH Isocyanate Restriction Project has been initiated by the German Authority BAuA.  

This project has been driven by a fundamental concern of Germany and other EU Member States on the number of occupational asthma cases that are claimed to be associated with the use of isocyanates, even though, also due to various product stewardship initiatives, their number have decreased over the last 10 years.

11:40 – Sustainability yes, but how to declare it?

There is increasing pressure from regulators and the construction value chain to provide evidence of the “sustainability” of proposed building solutions. The PU industry has consistently supported efforts to develop a holistic, LCA-based methodology. This presentation will give an overview of the system developed by CEN/TC350. A particular focus will be placed on Environmental Product Declarations, their content, use, limitations and future development.

Circular Economy is a topic that is high on the EU’s agenda. The European Commission is planning to propose at the end of 2015 a revised proposal for a ban on landfill and high recycling targets for all plastics, including thermosets, as well as extended producer responsibility schemes. This require industry to re-think the end of life of flexible PU foam containing products. The presentation will present the issues at stake and outline some of the thoughts of EUROPUR members on this topic.

16:00 – Lovgivning i relation til affaldshåndtering – Plastics and Recycling

Jakob Clemen, miljøkonsulent, Plastindustrien

Der er sket meget med genanvendelse af plast i Danmark, siden den tidligere Miljøminister Ida Auken bebudede den nu vedtagne ressourcestrategi til minimering af affald i 2012. Hvor genanvendelse af plast tidligere var et fokusområde internt på virksomhederne, har strategien sammenholdt med introduktionen af begreber som f.eks. cirkulær økonomi og cradle2cradle medvirket til at skabe fokus på nye forretningsmuligheder og værdikædesamarbejder.
